Rovers 133 for

St Ouen CC 136

Reduced
to a 40 over a side game due to St Ouen travelling by sea, Rovers set about setting
a large total for away side to chase.
St Ouen made early in roads but the total eventually set by Rovers
although low on a variable bounce and paced track could prove a testing score. Rovers were indebted to Scoones who was the
mainstay of their innings with 48 not out.
This was the best fielding and bowling display by St Ouen
this season in hot and sultry conditions.
All 5 St Ouen bowlers playing a part in curbing the flow of runs from
the last years Guernsey Champions bats.
In reply after an enjoyable spread, St Ouen set about
accumulating the necessary total but the early order struggled with the tight
opening attack and first change spin twins with Scoones now swapping bat for
ball. At 65 for 5 from 20 overs the
next round looked a long way away but the St Ouen mainstays Paul Horton and
Dave Clark slowly laid the foundations for a St Ouen win. Clark was out before the final runs were
scored but with Horton 29 not out and a little cameo from Danny Moffat St Ouen
came home with overs to spare.
