St Ouen's CC 147
for 2 from 12 overs
Air Conditioning 62 all out
Dave
Clark after returning from the rugby tour to Boston has captained 3 evening
league games and has a 100% record as St Ouen's strolled to an 85 run victory
at FB2. Robin Tewkesbury was in purposeful mood, testing out a hamstring
strain and soon dominated the Air Conditioning Jersey's opening bowlers, Nigel
Crocker and Prince. The ball found the middle of his bat with lovely
shots all around the wicket. He rode his luck being dropped 3 times by
the Air Conditioning fielders the last of which resulted in Dave Gascoyne being
taken to A & E for stitches. This is where things changed for Tewkesbury
(41) as St Ouen's Captain Dave Clark, in the spirit of cricket, offered a
fielder to the remaining 9 men of Air Conditioning and it was Safehands Clark
himself who took the catch to remove Tewkesbury as he miscued a pull off the
bowling of Prince.
Jamie Brewster (84*) then stepped up to the plate opened his shoulders and
showed his class as he smashed the first changed bowlers to all parts of FB2
with help from Danny Blasco (14) posted a more than useful 147 for 2.
Regular openers Mo Kemp (3 for 16) and Barry Middleton (1 for 21) not only contained
the Air Conditioning openers but ripped out the heart of their batting
line-up. They must have been relieved to see the first change bowlers of
Stuart Ramskill and Dendy Thompson but their was no let up. Ramskill only conceding 8 runs in 3 overs of
leg spin and the medium pace swinger, Thompson, removing 3 batsmen for 13
narrowly missing a hat trick but came back to remove the off stump of Baker after
doing the same to Nigel Johnson, who should some late on resistance and then
Matthews first ball.
