Old Codgers              136 for 8 in 45 overs

St Ouen’s CC            140 for 2 in 20.4 overs

A win and St Ouen’s would be guaranteed 4th spot in the Weekend League.  The Codger’s won the toss and elected to bat. Hanson falling to the dependable Moyse in his second over.  Buxton and Walls batted patiently annoying the Former Jersey Opening Fast Bowler Paul Horton who wanted to see a few more shots.  Horton was removed from the attack after 7 overs, 4 maidens and conceding just 5 runs.

It was again the pairing of Danny Blasco and the Dermot Reeve like Dave Morfee who did the damaged as in the game against Romerils.  Blasco picked up the wickets of Buxton, Webbe and Theron and Morfee removed Walls with the help of a full width catch from Dave Clark the chirpy Evans.  Karl Moyse came back for a second spell and removed the big hitting danger men Coward and Hackland.

Old Codgers innings closed on 136 for 8.

Again Morfee was paired with Dendy Thompson.  This week Thompson took up the mantel of pinch-hitter carting 18 but returning to the clubhouse in the 4th over.  Rob Tewkesbury followed shortly after for 1.  This left Morfee and Simon Varley to knock off the remaining total.  Dave Morfee looked elegant and relaxed making 60 not out off just 55 balls.  Varley dealing only in boundaries and singles smashed 40 off 44 balls.

St Ouen’s confirmed 4th spot takes us into the KPMG CI Cup, which is a 2-league format.  We will play Guernsey sides, Rovers and Optimists and Old Victorians from Jersey.
